Celebrate!
I thought I'd pass along something to celebrate on this
chilly but brilliantly sunny Tuesday morning. My newsletter,
which comes out on April 1st, starts with this - "Pick up your "Celebration
Card" when you come in for your next session! They're available
as of April 1, 2009 to celebrate your dedication to receiving wellness sessions regularly. Enjoy six sessions in six
months and receive your seventh session at 50% off!" I just think that anyone who commits to taking care of themselves
regularly should be recognized. So in addition to less anxiety, stress, depression, aches and pains, and more balance
and groundedness in your life, you also get to pay less for every seventh session. From my heart to yours... And for all of you aromatherapy enthusiasts who haven't found it yet, check out AromaWeb It's a great resource for information, essential oil profiles, articles and so much more!

Earth Hour
I just spent the last hour with our lights and technology turned off to celebrate
Earth Hour. I always enjoy our house lit by candles and lanterns, and it was so nice to bask in the quiet. It was especially
wonderful to see our children respond by gathering around the kitchen table, reading stories to each other. Scary ones,
of course, until they got bored with trying to be scared and moved on to something else. Without the distractions of
computers, television, ipods, gaming platforms etc...it was amazing to see how rapidly we gravitated towards each other -
finding community and companionship in reading and conversation. The hour flew by too quickly.... Perhaps this
is something to practice more frequently.

Aromatherapy and Women's Wellness
Yesterday we had our 3rd Fragrant 3rd Friday gathering of 2009. We started
exploring Women's Wellness and it became really apparent that we couldn't touch the topic with any great depth in
just one meeting. So.....(drumroll please) the topic continues again in April with a possible 3rd session in May.
We will delve deeper in April by looking at how aromatherapy can support
phases of life such as PMS, Pregnancy, Perimenopause and Menopause. In May we are thinking about looking at aromatherapy support
for Women's skin care. Stay tuned for the official announcement of the May topic though. (Hmmm....Threes seem
to be important to this topic. 3rd Friday - 3rd meeting of the series - 3 sessions... Shall we include 3 faces of the
divine feminine, maiden, mother, crone?) Here's a tidbit from
last night... "Pelargonium Graveolens essential oil, commonly known as Geranium or Rose Geranium, can encourage
solace, regeneration, adjustment, balance, assurance, tranquility, and steadiness." Who couldn't use some of
that? And here's a preview for April... Citrus Paradisi essential oil, known as Grapefruit, is a nicely
refreshing way to support a sunny mood and ease bloating and fluid retention. NOTE: If you are going to try to use essential oils please contact me or another certified aromatherapist, or find a class near you. They are wonderful, potent plant allies - and as such
- they can occasionally interact with medical conditions and medications, or cause skin irritation if used incorrectly.

What to write about...
I belong to Story Circle Network, a wonderful lifewriting organization which sends out weekly writing prompts of quotes and questions. This morning I received
one and I was moved to share the quotes here. Even if you don't write, maybe they will inspire you in some other
way. Quotes: "The
earth which sustains humanity must not be injured. It must not be destroyed!" —Hildegarde of Bingen/1098-1178/Germany
"The 'control of nature' is a phrase conceived in arrogance, born of the Neanderthal age of biology and
philosophy, when it was supposed that nature exists solely for the convenience of man." —Rachel Carson
"We won't have a society if we destroy the environment." —Margaret Mead
"The
more clearly we can focus our attention on the wonders and realities of the universe about us, the less taste we shall have
for destruction." —Rachel Carson

Update & Earth Community Gathering reminder
The site update is coming along nicely - at least from my perspective.
I'm still working on the "Massage & Bodywork Services" page, trying to clearly articulate what it is that I do in as few words as possible. I have some interesting
articles up and some aromatherapy recipes and tips. There's more to add and I'll be focusing on that later this week - so stop by and see the latest!
Also - remember that the second Earth Community Gathering is
happening in my office on Tuesday, March 10th from 6:30 - 7:30. Tracie

Spring website update!
Things may look a little different when you next visit! I'm making
some much needed changes. The site will be visually cleaner and easier to read, as well as better reflecting the heart
and soul of the unique synergy of services I offer. I'm also adding a page where you can find articles about aromatherapy, massage therapy, and more, as well as recipes and other fun information about aromatherapy. So far I've updated the Classes/Gatherings page, and I'm aiming to have the rest of the changes made by Sunday, March 8th. Stop by and let me know what you think!
